Sly Fox

It was the fox that led us to Bolton Gardens one balmy August night.

Jet lagged having flown into London from Sydney, Australia, we woke up at three in the morning, pulled back the curtain at the hotel and looked out into the night. There down on the lamp lit street was the fox looking up at us. 

We observed each other for a while then the fox turned and disappeared into one of those private gardens between rows of posh Kensington houses. Hurriedly we dressed and went across the road but the garden gate was locked, so we walked to the end of the street hoping to catch it on the other side. That led us to Bolton Gardens and Old Brompton Road.

We circled the block in front of a red brick walled primary school then happily went back to bed.

The next morning we got up, had breakfast and thought nothing of it.

Later that week I researched Beatrix Potter knowing that she’d grown up in London but wasn't sure exactly where, being more well known for living and writing her tales in the Lake District at Hill Top...

That's when I found out the primary school was where her family home used to be, before it was bombed in WW2.

Bolton Gardens opposite was where she would sit to get away from here overbearing mother and the block we'd circled around led to the Brompton cemetery where many of her characters names can be found on the tomb stones.

Spirited Hedgehog'

The Spirited Hedgehog we met down in Cornwall. It had spent the night trapped, circling round and round inside a red bucket. Since then it happily invades my dreams along with all its friends to deliver this tale 0f Mimla and the Eirys Coeden.

Little Bird

The mimlacode was created by Mimla but it was a little bird with musical bow and it's mother on a bike that inspired us to use the Matrix code and then the H.B.P code to bring it to life..
