MIMLAFOUNDATION - nonprofit mission statement

The idea behind the MimlaFoundation is to respect and look after this rainbow coloured planet we call home.

Nurturing hope and a healthy future for all humans and creatures young and old.

To do this we will create moated Community/Castle/Farm/Sanctuaries around the world as in the story. But unlike feudal castle’s of the past they will be places where all can come and learn how to live sustainably, caring for the environment and its native flora and fauna.

A home where all creatures will be protected and cared for (focusing on orphaned and endangered species particular to the location) just as the Eirys Coeden intended. Think of them as eco theme parks owned and run by you the public. While interacting with the creatures, have a picnic and learn how to look after the land; prepare and look after the soil by creating worm farms and using permaculture techniques, learn how to grow organic food from seed and create a well balanced eco system that will endure.

Vegetarian chefs will show you how to prepare food and get the most out of the produce, which will be available at a café (any extra will be sold at a farmer’s market and the profits folded back into the community)

You can also learn how to create things using natural products like wood, stone and wool. All buildings will be eco friendly and built using sustainable products with the least impact on the environment.

These Sanctuaries will have their own fresh flowing water and free sustainable power source (hydro, solar and wind)

Clean flowing water being the most important resource to be harvested, held and returned unpolluted. This means keeping all runoff clean (no chemical fertilizers or human waste returning to the river) There will be regular community gatherings, a café, farmer’s market, teaching sessions, story telling. Music, song and dance will weave us closer to our wonderful world.

We will connect and help fund environmental causes with sustainable organizations.

Mimla's story and code of ethics becoming a fun and tangible guide for a sustainable future, bringing hope to all.

Donated proceeds from the twenty tales being folded transparently into the MimlaFoundation's Sanctuaries and viewable online.

The books will then be made into five feature films or a twenty episode TV series, partially crowd funded using the donations and made with sustainable power. The first Community/Castle/Farm/Sanctuary and the tales initial location, will be in the Lake District, Cumbria, UK.

This will be a live build which can be watched over the internet by all who donate to the foundation and can get involved with the project (via a blog). The books will be freely available online in code (as is the creatures directive) and as they are broken, available decoded.

‘The Mimla Code’. Hidden in the books secret code are clues to a treasure hunt that encompasses the planet.
